The members of British boy band One Direction were spotted grabbing a bite to eat shortly after arriving back home in Britain last Thursday (February 2). The ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ singers had just returned from the U.S., where they spent some time opening for fellow boy-banders Big Time Rush and filming an episode of iCarly in Los Angeles.
Apparently their guest stint on the popular Nickelodeon series went well for members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson because rumors are that the heartthrobs are going to be offered their own show on the network, as well as a big push from mentor Simon Cowell on American TV.
“Simon [Cowell] has vowed to launch them on the U.S. version of the X Factor, while Nickelodeon are in talks to give them their own show,” said an industry source, adding that producers and directors were impressed with the acting abilities of the boys from One Direction.
So how does Big Time Rush feel about their up-and-coming competition? “They’re incredibly talented, and I think they’re going to have massive success in the US. It doesn’t work for everyone, but I think it will for them,” said BTR’s Carlos Pena, not sounding threatened in the least.
