Zac Efron and Taylor Swift appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Tuesday (February 21) to talk about their new movie Dr. Seuss’ ‘The Lorax.’ Ellen couldn’t help giving them some good-natured grilling about whether or not they were a couple, and pressed them about how they spent their Valentine’s Day.
“We are not a couple. He’s awesome, we are not a couple though,” Taylor insisted “You hear people get together when they’re shooting movies, co-stars. But not like animated co-stars. You know what I’m saying. Oh my god, as we were recording out voiceovers on separate coasts we really connected.”
After the 22-year-old confessed that she and her girlfriends spent Valentine’s Day throwing a “Pathetic Single Girls’ Party” where they ate junk food and danced, Zac chimed in with his V-Day scenario. “That’s so different then what single guys do. I went to a screening of a film that I did called Liberal Arts. Then cooked some dinner.’
At one point the pair pulled out their guitars to do a version of Foster the People’s ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ with lyrics personalized just for Ellen, and Zac revealed that he had just learned how to play. “I got my first guitar lesson from Taylor,” he said.
“He had like one lesson,” Taylor said. “And he was good at it!”
