Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth star in one of the most anticipated films of the year – The Hunger Games. And now the young actors are partnering with Feeding America and the World Food Programme (WFP) in the fight against hunger.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about hunger in the United States and around the world, and encourages fans to help find a solution to the problem.
“Unlike the characters in The Hunger Games, we do not live in a country in which food is scarce. There is enough food to feed everyone living in the U.S., but it’s not getting to millions of low-income people who need it,” said Vicki Escarra, president and CEO of Feeding America. [Our partnership with] The Hunger Games will help us…encourage people to join Feeding America in our commitment to helping ensure that everyone has enough to eat.”
Jennifer, Josh and Liam all took part in a new public service announcement for the campaign, with Josh encouraging, “Let’s make a difference. Join us and let’s stop hunger.”
