Josh Hutcherson Tells Jay Leno About His Embarrassing Baseball Pitch

Josh Hutcherson made an appearance on  The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday (April 10) and talked about The Hunger Games and baseball.

Over the weekend the actor was invited to throw the first pitch at a Cincinnati Reds’ baseball game.

The 19-year-old sports fan said he fantasized on being on ESPN’s “Top 10” plays segment. However his nerves got the best of him, especially when he found out he had to pitch to his favorite player Brandon Phillips. The result? He ended up throwing the ball into the dirt – making it “the most embarrassed I’ve ever been.”

He told the audience, “I’m an athlete! I’m a better athlete than that, I promise you!”

He also confessed, “I threw it like a girl.”

Talking about the success of The Hunger Games – Josh said that he loved the books and to be in the movie and have it be a hit is “beyond my wildest dreams.”
