It’s been a great year for Josh Hutcherson. First the success of The Hunger Games and a barrage of media attention for the young star, and now it was just announced that the 19-year-old has been named CinemaCon‘s Breakthrough Performer of the Year!
“With an already impressive resume of films under his belt, Hutcherson is one of the most accomplished young actors of his time,” CinemaCon said in a statement. CinemaCon, which will be held in Las Vegas later this month, is the annual convention of exhibitors that’s hosted by the National Association of Theater Owners.
Josh was spotted this past weekend at Coachella but he was flying solo at the massive outdoor music festival. Once-rumored love Emma Roberts was there, too, but was busy being whisked away by on-again boyfriend Chord Overstreet, and Josh’s former girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens was planted firmly by the side of boyfriend Austin Butler.
But don’t feel too sorry for Josh – he was spotted having a great time at the Guess Hotel Smoke & Mirrors Party with Victorious star Avan Jogia where they got plenty of attention. “Girls love him! They went crazy when he was playing around,” a source said about Josh. “When he stopped, tons of girls swarmed him, wanting to talk and ask for pictures. I don’t think he minded at all.”
