Justin Bieber attended the Third Annual Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards on Thursday (April 26). The event was held at the NYU Paulson Auditorium in New York City. The Boyfriend singer and his manager Scooter Braun were awarded the hammer-shaped awards for being “disruptive innovators.” Along with Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and filmmaker and actor Ed Burns – the awards are to honor those who have disrupted industry with new technologies, ideas, and strategies.
Bieber and Braun talked about how they have used the Internet to interact with the public.
The 18-year-old pop star said, “For me, I need to interact with my fans. I take time out of my day to reweet fans.”
The pair said they are “paying it forward’ – having signed Carly Rae Jepsen.
Justin later Tweeted: “Got the DISRUPT award at the tribeca film festival with @scooterbraun. in school i got in trouble for being disruptive. LOOK AT ME NOW. lol”
