Carly Rae Jepsen loves the Kiwis and it appears the feeling is mutual! The Canadian singer is on her first trip to New Zealand and it looks like more than a few of her fans game out to greet her at an ‘ice cream social’ at KiYo, a popular frozen yogurt store in Auckland. Carly tweeted out this photo to thank her hosts. “Thanks for the delicious frozen yogurt @KiwiYoNZ.” Earlier she posted a similar pic and gave a shout out to her fans:
“Met some new friends in Auckland!”
The 26-year-old protege of Justin Bieber must be in a celebratory mood – Billboard magazine reports that her breakout hit, ‘Call Me Maybe,’ has entered the coveted top five of Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart this week, eclipsed only by Gotye’s Somebody that I Used to Know,’ that took the number-one spot for a second week.
For her part, Carly is still slightly disbelieving of her song’s huge success, but gives props to her mentor for his influence.”A lot of the reason people have been able to hear it is because of Justin’s support,” she said in a recent interview. “But why it is responding as well is kind of a mystery to me, but it is wonderful.”
