Dude! Zac Efron looked pretty chill as he breezed into Toronto’s Pearson International Airport on Saturday (9/8) for the Toronto International Film Festival.
The High School Musical star had an entourage with him as he made his way out of the terminal, but even they couldn’t stop fans from rushing up to take a few cell phone pics.
Zac is at the festival for the North American premiere of The Paperboy, a steamy thriller also starring Matthew McConaughey and Nicole Kidman. He’s just back from the Venice Film Festival where he promoted At Any Price, and now it was just announced that he’s been tapped to star in the romantic comedy Are We Officially Dating? Sounds like this former Disney star is turning into a bona fide leading man.
In Venice, Zac talked about growing as an actor by choosing more complex roles like the one director Ramin Bahrani offered him in At Any Price. “All I have, really, is the ability to look back at my elders and the people that I really respect in this industry, the actors that have been here before and really made an impact … and I put myself in their shoes,” he said.
“I sort of stand here with, say, two roads in front of me,” he continued. “One (is) the easy path … towards money and the other one being towards playing more interesting roles that I don’t have all the answers to, or going with Ramin into the cornfields for a couple of weeks.”
