Let the games begin! Or at least the filming of the games. E! News is reporting that the second installment in the Hunger Games trilogy – Catching Fire – officially started filming on Monday (September 10) in Atlanta, Georgia.
But don’t start lining up for tickets just yet. The film’s release date has been set for November 22…of 2013. Don’t worry – that just gives you plenty of time to put together your Katniss costume for opening night.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Elizabeth Banks are already on-set, along with new cast addition Philip Seymour Hoffman. Later this year Sam Claflin, Jena Malone and Jeffrey Wright – also new cast members – will travel to Hawaii for additional filming.
One thing is certain – the huge success of the first film means that Jennifer will have a bigger trailer on set – and a much bigger salary. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actress – who received $500,000 + bonuses for the first flick – is currently negotiating a deal to earn somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 million for Catching Fire.
