Ed Sheeran was all smiles as he hit an after-party in West Hollywood, Calif. following the 55th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night (February 10). The singer performed his hit ‘The A Team’ along with Elton John at the ceremonies.
According to Ed, the duet was all Elton’s idea. “He put it together. He rung me up one day and said, ‘How would you feel about performing with me at the Grammys?'” Ed said in an interview with MTV. “I was like, ‘I’ll check my schedule.'”
‘The A Team’ was nominated for Song Of The Year, an honor made all the more meaningful since Ed wrote the song while he was broke and homeless. On the day the young British singer/songwriter found out about the nomination he tweeted:
“A team. A song I wrote with no home, no money, anything, nominated or best record at the Grammys. A dream come true. Ecstatic xxx”
