Daniel Radcliffe attended the Get Connected’s Annual Charity Auction at The Underglobe in London, England on Tuesday (March 5). The 23-year-old actor co-hosted the event for the charity – which aims to help British youths under 25 by offering a free and confidential hotline service.
The Guardian reports that Radcliffe is set to play Igor in Frankenstein. The movie is a new take on Mary Shelley’s novel and will be directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul McGuigan.
According to The Wrap – the Harry Potter star is interested in playing the lead role of Hunchback. The film will be “a sci-fi take on this classic story about a creature produced through a scientific experiment”, and Radcliffe’s character is “pathologically dirty and dressed in old clown’s clothing”. The script is currently being finalized at Twentieth Century Fox.
Last November Radcliffe said in an interview, “I haven’t always been thrilled with my work. But the fear of not proving the people wrong who think you can’t emerge from a franchise and do well, that’s a very strong driving force.”
