Shailene Woodley has landed the part of Hazel in the upcoming film adaptation of The Fault In Our Stars.
Entertainment Weekly reports the director – Josh Boone – stated, “During our exhaustive search to find Hazel Grace Lancaster, I saw some stunning auditions by today’s finest young actresses. Over 250 girls read for the part, but it wasn’t until Shailene stepped in front of the camera that I truly saw Hazel for the first time. It was like lightning striking. I can’t wait for the rest of the world to see what I have.”
The novel follows Hazel and Gus – two teens who fall in love in a cancer support group.
Woodley – who starred in the Secret Life of The American Teenager – will also be seen in Spider-Man 2 and Divergent.
Meanwhile the 21-year-old actress is also enjoying some downtime. Last Saturday she tweeted: “farmers market arugula, spinach, chevre, hot sauce, black beans, herbs, olive oil = game over.”
