Kristen Stewart has landed two new roles. The first movie is Camp X-Ray – a political drama directed by Peter Sattler.
Deadline.com reports the 23-year-old will play a young soldier who escapes her suffocating small town by joining the military – only to find that she isn’t going for a tour of duty in Iraq as she hoped. Instead, she’s sent to Guantanamo.
Stewart will also be in Sils Maria – along with Juliette Binoche and Chloe Moretz. Her part is of an assistant to Binoche’s character – an actress who becomes obsessed with a young actress playing the role that made the older actress famous when she was young.
Originally she was supposed to be in Focus with Ben Affleck but she dropped out- leaving room to shoot these movies this summer.
Last year she told The Huffington Post – “I can’t pragmatically approach anything in terms of my career. I need to be so rocked by something, so moved by something that the idea of letting it down or ruining it is painful, and that’s what gets you through the shoot. You read material and it provokes you on some level, and the reason you make the movie is to find out why it made you feel all those things. Those things are so rare to find that if you start also considering what people are going to think, you’ll never make a movie.”
