Alexandria DeBerry: “Bella And Zendaya Are Both Amazing Performers”

A.N.T. Farm and Shake It Up star Alexandria DeBerry sure has a busy summer ahead! She and several castmates and stars from TV shows like Jessie will soon appear live on stage for the Tween Stars Live 2013 Tour.  Kicking off Saturday, July 27th, this family-friendly event gives kids the chance to see their fave stars up close and personal!

Celebrity Teen Scoop recently chatted with Alexandria about her summer plans, her favorite part about acting, and what she’s looking forward to doing the most on the Tween Stars Live 2013 Tour. The talented actress also shared what it was like working with Bella Thorne and Zendaya

CTS: You played the role of “Paisley” on Disney’s A.N.T. Farm. What was that experience like?

Alexandria: “Working on A.N.T. Farm has been such a blast. The past three years have been an amazing and real learning experience concerning the television industry. I get recognized nearly everywhere I go now because of the show’s popularity, and it’s so cool meeting fans who adore the show that we have such a great time making.”

CTS: What was your favorite part about being on the show?

Alexandria: “My favorite part is definitely filming in front of a live audience every Friday night. Performing in front of a huge crowd and hearing them laugh really cranks up the cast’s energy.”

CTS: You also played the role of “Destiny” on Disney’s Shake It Up. How did you get cast in the role?

Alexandria: “I went to a normal audition for it and the casting director liked me, so I ended up going back again to read for the director. While I was at the airport about to catch a flight to Texas that evening, I got a call saying that I had booked the role. I had to turn back around and get off the plane! I was pretty stoked.”

CTS: What was it like to work with Bella Thorne and Zendaya?

Alexandria: “Bella and Zendaya are both amazing performers. Zendaya is pretty low key and chill, and Bella is super high energy. Of course they’re always dancing, even when they’re not at rehearsals. Roshon, Davis, Adam, and Caroline are all great as well.”

CTS: You are going on the Tween Stars Live Tour 2013 with other young stars in July. How are you preparing for the tour?

Alexandria: “I’m pumped for the tour! Everyone going on the tour is so talented, and I think tweens are going to be ecstatic to see us all in person. I’ll be gathering some of my best set stories to share with them.”

CTS: What are you looking forward to doing the most on the tour?

Alexandria: “Interacting with the fans, hearing their favorite episodes, and answering questions. They’re the reason that I’m where I’m at!”

CTS: What is your favorite part about acting? How did you get your start in acting?

Alexandria: “My favorite part about acting is meeting all the people. I’m a huge people person and I get to meet so many people everywhere I go. Whether it be writers, directors, fans, co-stars, or crew members, I’m just fascinated by talking to them and hearing their stories and experiences. I also think that helps me as an actor, as I can pull different traits from these people and put them into the various characters I play. I first began modeling as a little girl and doing commercials, then slowly moved my way into the acting side of the industry by taking classes and auditioning.”

CTS: What do you like to do when you are not on-set or preparing for a role?

Alexandria: “I love sports! My brother plays college baseball and my dad is a coach, so of course I love going to football and baseball games. Other than that, I enjoy going to the beach, playing tennis and guitar, roller-skating, cooking, and shopping. What girl doesn’t, right?” [laughs]

CTS: Do you have any other upcoming projects we can all look out for?

Alexandria: “I just wrapped up two new movies, Hoovey and Pass the Light, which are expecting to be in theaters 2014!”

CTS:  What else do you plan to do this summer?

Alexandria: “I just got back from Hawaii and it was beautiful! This summer, I will hopefully hang out with some friends that I rarely get to see because I’m so busy. I will also go to some charity events!”
