Taylor Swift recently pulled the plug on a Rhode Island t-shirt printing store displaying an image of her. Her reps called the store owner located in Westerly and threatened legal action if the shirts weren’t pulled from the shelves.
Graphic designer Kevin Adams told Radar Online, “We refer to it as the OMG Watch Hill tee shirt. I’m trying to avoid saying ‘that name.’”
He added, “It’s pretty big news with Taylor coming here, so we wanted to make a fun tee shirt. We purposely made one that didn’t say her name on it. Then we put it on our Facebook page, and people liked it, so we started selling it.”
“Very promptly,” Adams continued, “we got a call from this guy from Nashville who told me to stop making them. He called me last Tuesday or Wednesday. He started throwing his weight around and trying to intimidate me. I’m sure this guy was just doing his job, but I don’t believe I’m doing anything wrong with this shirt.”
Abercrombie & Fitch also had to pull shirts out of their stores because fans were upset that they printed ones that read: “# more boyfriends than t.s.”
In April – Swift bought mansion for $17.75 million in cash overlooking the beach at Watch Hill. The property boasts five bedrooms, 700 feet of waterfront and more than 11,000 square feet of living space sitting on five acres.
