Justin Bieber got a rare honor on Friday (July 26) when he was presented with a plaque that contained a hockey stick signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He made an Instagram video to commemorate the occasion.
“So I just got blessed with this right here,” Justin said, pointing to his prize. “Every player from the Toronto Maple Leafs signed this stick and they presented it to me, Justin Bieber!” See the video below.
The clip ends with Maple Leafs CEO Tim Leiweke explaining what a special tribute this was. “And we’ve never done this before, this is only…” he starts to say. We don’t get to hear the rest of his sentence because he gets cut off. That’s Instagram video for you.
Let’s hope Justin gets a better reaction to this sporting honor than he did on his last one. Earlier this month the singer enraged hockey fans when he posed with the Stanley Cup in the Chicago Blackhawks locker room, and took a picture of the trophy while standing on the Blackhawks logo, considered a sign of disrespect.
