Taylor Swift: Who She Was Really Telling To “Shut The $#?% Up”

Beside’s Miley Cyrus‘ performance, there was one other story that was making headlines on the night of the MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor Swift is seeing mouthing the words “Shut the f— up” while One Direction was announcing the nominees for Best Pop Video and everyone assumed her snipe was directed at ex Harry Styles.

But leave it to Taylor‘s BFF Ed Sheeran to tell the real story and set the record straight!

According to the ‘Lego House’ singer, his pal (and ‘Red’ tour mate) did say the words “shut the f— up,” but they were directed at her friend Selena Gomez, who was sitting next to her. Apparently Taylor was trying to quiet her friend, who was thinking she had no chance of winning the award for her video “Come & Get It.”

“[Taylor] rung me straight afterward and she was like, ‘I think I’ve messed up,’ “Ed said during a Q&A session last week. “Selena said to her, ‘I think Miley’s going to win the award over me,’ and then Taylor said, ‘Oh, shut the f— up.’ And that’s what that was.”
