Carly Rae Jepsen was all smiles as she dropped in to the studios of Z100 Radio in New York City on Tuesday (April 10). The ‘Call Me Maybe’ singer kept it fresh and young in a flirty white dress and sparkly red heels.
The Canadian singer – who is a protoge of Justin Bieber – has reason to be in a good mood: her debut single topped the UK singles chart this week, and became the fastest-selling single of 2012 so far.
In a recent interview Carly, who came third in Canadian Idol in 2007, mused on her sudden fame and meteoric rise to the top. “It’s hard to believe at the moment!” she gushed. “It’s definitely a surreal life that I’m in right now, but I’m enjoying every second of it. It’s pretty crazy.”
The 26-year-old also talked about wanting to help other young artists in the same way Justin helped her. “They say it’s called paying it forward since Usher signed Bieber and then he signed me, so I’m gonna hope that I have the opportunity. That’d be pretty rad.”
