The boys give back! The Jonas Brothers – Kevin, Nick and Joe – were honored for their charity work at the 2012 Variety’s Power of Youth event in Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday (September 15).
The brothers were honored for their own charity called Change for the Children – a foundation they started to help motivate and inspire kids to help others who are less fortunate. “We believed that young people can make a huge difference in the world around us,” Nick said. “They’re active with their communities, socially aware and always working to give back. We wanted to help our fans and every young person out there understand that they too can work to change the future for the better.”
Among the others honored at the event were Vanessa Hudgens, for her work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland. Sarah was singled out for her dedication to George Lopez’ charity, The Lopez Foundation, that helps send kids with kidney disease to summer camps.
With all the hard work Kevin, Nick and Joe have been doing with their charity, fans will have to be patient in waiting for the release of the new JoBros album. “I think probably this year. I wish it could be released tomorrow,” Joe said of the disc, the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2010′s Lines, Vines and Trying Times. “Obviously, there’s just so many other things you have to think about.
“But we’ve been working on music for about three, four months now and got into a place now where it’s just a rhythm, and we’re creating the music, and it’s really coming together really well. I would say fall hopefully you’ll hear some stuff.”
