Hailee Steinfeld has been cast in Term Life – the movie adaptation of the graphic novel. Vince Vaughn is one of the producers and also plays Hailee’s dad in the movie. According to The Wrap – Peter Billingsley is directing the action comedy.
The story is about a low-life whom everybody – including mob bosses, contract killers and dirty cops – wants dead.
In a rare act of selflessness the man takes out a million-dollar term life insurance policy to benefit his estranged daughter, but soon after, he realizes it doesn’t take effect for 21 days. The story, laid out in nonlinear fashion, focuses on the man’s efforts to make it to the finish line while trying to be a responsible father for the first time.
The 16-year-old actress – who will also be seen in the upcoming Romeo & Juliet – credits her family for being comfortable as a teenager.
She told Company magazine, “For teenagers – and I mainly speak for myself on this one you’re put into this adult world and it’s scary as anything can happen at any moment, but I’m just thankful my parents have raised me the way they have. I feel really confident just being me. I think a lot of the young actresses out there are the same – they’ve got really good backgrounds and families. We’re just doing what we love and we’re only doing it for that reason.”
