Taylor Swift is currently filming ‘The Giver’ with an all-star cast that includes Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes and Jeff Bridges. The ’22’ singer recently talked to Access Hollywood about her excitement over being included in the project.
“I couldn’t believe it was happening to me,” she said. “I still can’t believe I shot in South Africa and shot all my scenes with Jeff Bridges. It was unreal.”
“Seriously, I couldn’t believe I got to be a part of the experience,” Taylor continued. “And I just tried to work as hard as I could and just throw myself into that environment as much as I possibly could and it was really long hours and it was a lot of preparation and getting into character and all that.”
“But it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Honestly.”
The 22-year-old has acted before (‘Valentine’s Day,’ ‘The New Girl’) but says she gained new skills while working on the film, an adaptation of Lois Lowry’s 1993 classic children’s book. “I learned so much,” Taylor said. “It’s crazy how educational just getting into a situation and doing it [is]. You learn so much more, because I have taken acting classes and read as much as I possibly can on it and done theater before all this started, [but] you learn more by actually doing it than you could ever learn in preparation.”
And true to form, Taylor will soon be singing about her time on set. “What I go through is going to be the story that I tell,” she said. “I think lyrically I always try to tell my fans exactly what’s happened to me in the last two years and that’s thing they can expect.”
